Hello, all.
My name is Meredith Boyce and I am a blind technology analyst with a focus on web and mobile application accessibility. I know that the pandemic is inspiring many people to make their services and innovations available on the web, and I would like to provide my expertise in software accessibility to ensure these new innovations will be inclusive of people with disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals, which is a widely regarded certification for web accessibility professionals.
- CSforALL Accessibility Advisory Board member
- White House Champion of Change – 2016
- AccessComputing Team Member
Rates: I’m offering an analysis of a website or mobile application up 20 pages or screens for a flat-rate $1250 USD, with additional pages/screens at $50/each. These pages will be audited manually using the latest technology for screenreaders and screen magnifiers, as well as some automated testing for color contrast. I will be using JAWS and VoiceOver with the appropriate browser combinations for websites. Mobile applications will be tested with VoiceOver on iOS and Talkback on Android. This is the best way to ensure WCAG 2.1 compliance, which is the federal and international standard for web accessibility.
Clients will receive a comprehensive report and actionable recommendations to ensure that your site/application meets and exceeds WCAG 2.1 guidelines, including appropriate WAI-ARIA labels, headers, links, and color contrast. I will also provide recommendations for alt-text for images and closed captioning/transcripts for videos.
I will be organizing this venture into an LLC as soon as I have clients. Stay tuned for updates.
I’m looking forward to supporting you in developing inclusive and accessible tools and technologies.
Regards,
Meredith Boyce, CPACC
