  • 2019: Created by the United Nations’ Women and the Global Innovation Coalition for Change in 2019, the She Innovates Global program helps female innovators and entrepreneurs to defy gender barriers and turn their solutions into reality.

CSforALL Accessibility Initiative: Advisory Committee Member

  • Member of the accessibility committee for the CSforALL organization. CSforALL is a national initiative to empower all US students to learn computer science and be equipped with the computational thinking skills they need to be creators in the digital economy, and to be active citizens in our technology-driven world.

AccessComputing Team Member

  • 2019: Part of a team working under Dr. Shiri Azenkot (Cornell) at the University of Washington during the AccessComputing research conference. The project was development of a concept in C++ and Unity for blind people to use VR. I consider myself responsible for 90% of the work on the wireframes, at least 35% of the coding work, and 99% of the code review.

The White House’s Champions of Change: Award Winner

  • 2015 recipient of the Obama White House’s Champions of Change award. Recognized because of work building a peer-to-peer technology tutoring program at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind. The program is self-sustaining and will evolve to teach students and teachers about accessible technology and its applications.

National Center for Women and Information Technology: National Award Runner-Up, Regional Winner

  • 2015 and 2014 recipient of the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing. Recipients are selected on their aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education. My project was using WCAG 2.0 guidelines and principles to assist in the rollout of a 1:1 technology program at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind.

  • Pursued a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science, did not complete because the major was discontinued  in 2017. Also took courses in psychology, technical writing, and liberal arts. Minored in French.
